Matthew Strong is the founder of Amendly Labs, an independent research lab focused on a central question for the AI era: how do individuals and organizations preserve economic value as AI commoditizes business execution?
He holds a master's degree in Cybersecurity and Information Assurance, is pursuing an additional master's degree in Computer Science with an AI/ML focus, and holds the CISSP, AWS Certified Machine Learning Engineer – Associate, Security+, CySA+, Pentest+, and Data+ certifications. His background includes public-sector information technology and security.
Current areas of work include:
- Offline memory-centric agent systems for long duration autonomous experimentation.
- Benchmark design for novelty, breadth, and sustained reasoning.
- Structured experiment traces for model behavior analysis.
- private offline tools that help individuals optimize work and behavior.
Rather than optimizing only for immediate task completion, he focuses on qualities that are under-explored in current evaluations: breadth of exploration, novelty generation, persistence, behavioral drift, and long-run reasoning patterns.
